Manzanillo es uno de los destinos de playa más bellos del país. Se localiza a 90 km al sur de la ciudad de Colima, capital del estado del mismo nombre, en la región de la costa del pacífico. Su clima es cálido (con humedad mínima), por lo que presenta una temperatura media anual entre 26° y 28° C.

Manzanillo es conocido como la "Capital mundial del pez vela", ya que en este lugar se realizan, desde 1957, importantes torneos -nacionales e internacionales- de pesca, como la Copa Dorsey, que han convertido a este destino en uno de los más atractivos para los amantes de este deporte.

En sus playas, como Miramar y La Audiencia, de arena fina y pendiente suave, podrá practicar diferentes deportes acuáticos como el buceo y el esnórquel. En los hoteles o en la marina de Las Hadas, Puede recorrer las hermosas bahías de Manzanillo y Santiago contratando el servicio de un yate, para disfrutar del sol o admirar el increíble paisaje de la región, en el que destacan las colinas de exuberante vegetación, ideales para la práctica del ecoturismo, el campismo y otros deportes de aventura.

En Manzanillo encontrará modernos complejos hoteleros de estilo mediterráneo, morisco y mexicano, y tres campos de golf, de prestigio internacional, algunos rodeados de lagunas, mar y montañas, que cuentan con todos servicios y la infraestructura necesaria para que disfrute de su estancia y practique este deporte. 

En un recorrido por las calles del centro de la población podrá encontrar numerosos restaurantes que ofrecen tradicionales platillos de la cocina colimense como el ceviche o el tatemado, guiso elaborado a base de espinazo de cerdo; algunos mercados donde podrá adquirir todo tipo de artesanías como hamacas de tela o collares de caracol; así como bares y cafés en los que podrá platicar con los amigos y disfrutar de la noche. No olvide visitar el Malecón, el Jardín Obregón y admirar el "Monumento al pez vela", espectacular obra del escultor Sebastián, que confirma la importancia de este puerto como un destino difícil de olvidar.

Considerado el Puerto de altura más importante del Pacífico mexicano, está situado en la ruta de las líneas de navegación de lejano Oriente, Norte, Centro y Sudamérica y Oceanía.

Destino ideal para la práctica de actividades acuáticas entre las que destacan la pesca deportiva, su bahía está integrada desde Punta de Campos , en el sur, hasta Juluapan en el norte. A lo largo de las bellas playas de este litoral están asentados tres pueblos distintos: Manzanillo, Salahua y Santiago, actualmente conurbados. Manzanillo is one of the most beautiful beach destinations in the nation. It is located on the Pacific coast, 90 km (56 mi) south of state capital Colima. The climate is warm and fairly dry, with an average year-round temperature of 27º C (81º F).

Manzanillo is known as the Sailfish Capital of the World. Since 1957, it has hosted important national and international fishing competitions, such as the Dorsey Tournament, making it a very attractive fishing destination.

At the beaches of Miramar and La Audiencia, which have fine sand and gentle slopes, you can do various aquatic sports, such as scuba diving and snorkeling. At the hotels and at Las Hadas Marina, you can hire a yacht to enjoy the sun and the region’s incredible scenery along the bays of Manzanillo and Santiago. The ride affords you an excellent view of the hills covered with lush vegetation, which are ideal spots for ecotourism outings, camping and adventure sports.

In Manzanillo you’ll find modern Mediterranean- Moorish- and Mexican-style hotel resorts. This destination also has three world-class golf courses, some of which are surrounded by lagoons and mountains, and offer an ocean view. As you explore the downtown area you’ll find numerous restaurants serving regional cuisine, such as ceviche or tatemado, a pork backbone dish. At some of the markets, you can buy all kinds of crafts, including hammocks and necklaces made from seashells. In addition, you’ll come across a fair share of bars and cafes, where you can chat with friends and enjoy an interesting night out. During your stay, don’t forget to visit the boardwalk, the Obregon Garden and the Monumento al Pez Vela (Sailfish Monument), a spectacular work of art created by sculptor Sebastian. Manzanillo is the main deep-sea port on the Mexican Pacific coast. It is located on the shipping routes from the Far East, North, Central and South America and Oceania. Port of significant growth in recent years, greatly expanding the port’s business potential. There has also been substantial development of the tourism infrastructure, with the construction of luxury resorts facilities that meet the highest domestic and international standards.

Manzanillo Bay extends from Campos Point in the South to Juluapan in the North. Within the bay there are actually three towns standing shoulder to shoulder: Manzanillo, Salahua and Santiago.  

The main tourist attraction is the beach zone, where visitors, can enjoy a variety of water sports including excellent sport fishing, which has earned Manzanillo the title as “The World Sailfish Capital”.
